About The Role
We’re looking for a talented and detail-driven
Colorist
to join our growing video production team. As our in-house expert, you’ll define the visual tone and color language across a wide range of content—from educational masterclasses to brand films and product explainers.You’ll use your mastery of color science, S-Log/RAW workflows, and visual storytelling to elevate every frame we release, ensuring it meets the highest cinematic standards and strengthens the NxtWave brand’s visual identity.
Key Responsibilities
Color Grading & Look Development
- Perform professional color correction and grading for footage shot in S-Log/RAW profiles.
- Develop cohesive color palettes aligned with project mood, narrative, and branding.
- Create and maintain LUTs and grading templates for consistent use.
- Ensure accurate skin tones, depth, and tonal balance that enhances storytelling.
Technical Workflow & Delivery
- Manage DaVinci Resolve workflows from conforming and grading to rendering and final delivery.
- Collaborate with cinematographers and editors to ensure optimal capture for grading flexibility.
- Implement efficient color pipelines integrated with post-production workflows.
- Maintain color accuracy through color-managed workflows across web, broadcast, and LMS outputs.
Quality Control & Consistency
- Conduct QC checks to eliminate color discrepancies, banding, or compression issues.
- Maintain consistency across multi-camera and multi-location shoots.
- Ensure color fidelity between raw footage, graded outputs, and motion graphics/VFX.
Collaboration & Creative Input
- Work with directors, DOPs, and editors to bring creative vision to life through color.
- Provide input during pre-production and shoots on lighting and camera settings.
- Stay current with trends in color grading, film aesthetics, and emerging technologies.
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
- 2–3 years of experience as a Colorist in films, branded content, or commercial projects.
Software Skills:
- Expert in DaVinci Resolve Studio (primary).
- Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or other NLEs is a plus.
- Knowledge of color-managed workflows, ACES, and HDR grading preferred.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong grasp of color theory, LUTs, scopes, and calibration techniques.
- Experience with Sony FX, Canon Cinema, Blackmagic, and RED cameras.
Creative & Personal Attributes:
- Sharp eye for detail, consistency, and subtle tonal nuances.
- Strong storytelling sense—enhancing emotion and tone through color.
- Clear communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with HDR workflows or Dolby Vision mastering.
- Knowledge of on-set color monitoring and live grading tools.
- Familiarity with VFX pipelines and compositing processes.
