Role Description - Color Matching & QC: - Conduct meticulous color matching between stills and video footage, ensuring consistency across all deliverables. - Identify and correct color shifts, banding, and artifacting in images and videos. - Ensure seamless color continuity across multi-camera shoots and composited elements. - Color Analysis & Correction: - Use waveforms, vectorscopes, histograms, and false color tools to assess and adjust color balance. - Perform primary and secondary color grading to enhance image quality while preserving natural tones. - Develop and apply Look-Up Tables (LUTs) for consistent color reproduction. - File Handling & Technical Compliance: - Work with TIFF, JPEG, PSD, EXR, RAW, and log footage formats, ensuring correct color space conversions. - Maintain color accuracy across SDR and HDR deliverables, understanding Rec.709, Rec.2020, ACES workflows, and gamma curves (sRGB, Gamma 2.2, Gamma 2.4, etc.). - Ensure deliverables meet broadcast and digital platform color compliance standards (e.g., Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, Adobe RGB, DCI-P3). - Software & Hardware Proficiency: - Proficient in DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, Nuke, and Capture One. - Familiarity with color-managed workflows in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Baselight. - Work with calibrated monitors (Eizo, Flanders Scientific, BenQ, etc.) and hardware colorimeters (X-Rite, Spyder, etc.) to maintain accuracy. - Quality Assurance & Documentation: - Develop and maintain color reference guides, style guides, and best practices for the production team. - Conduct visual and instrument-based color assessments to ensure consistency in print, web, and video formats. Qualifications - 3+ years of experience in color correction, grading, or QC for video and image production. - Strong understanding of color theory, color perception, and human visual psychology. - Deep knowledge of ICC profiles, CMYK vs. RGB workflows, and display calibration techniques. - Experience in handling log, raw, and HDR formats with an understanding of film emulation techniques. - Ability to differentiate subtle hue shifts, white balance inconsistencies, and exposure mismatches. - Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to quality control and troubleshooting. - Strong communication skills to collaborate with creative teams, post-production, and clients.
