CNC Operator – Sheet Metal position. This can be tailored to suit specific company requirements, skill levels (entry-level, experienced), or industry focus (automotive, aerospace, fabrication Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Operator to join our metal fabrication team. The CNC Operator will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to cut, bend, or punch sheet metal parts as per engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various sheet metals and CNC equipment in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: • Operate CNC machines (laser cutters, turret punches, press brakes, etc.) for sheet metal processing. • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job orders to determine machine setup and production methods. • Load and unload sheet metal materials into CNC machinery. • Monitor machine operations and adjust settings to ensure accurate and quality production. • Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot minor issues. • Inspect finished parts using measurement tools (callipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure they meet quality standards. • Maintain clean and organized work area in compliance with safety regulations. • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules. • Record production data and report deviations or equipment malfunctions. Requirements: • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in CNC machining is a plus. • Proven experience as a CNC operator in a sheet metal fabrication environment. • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and G-code programming is desirable. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing instructions. • Basic knowledge of material properties (stainless steel, aluminium, galvanized, etc.). • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and manual dexterity. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. • Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required. Preferred Skills: • Experience with Amada, Trumpf, or similar CNC equipment. • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or 5S principles. • Forklift or crane operation certification. 1. Certifications: Certifications in CNC programming, laser cutting, or a related field. 2. Experience with CAD/CAM software: Experience with CAD/CAM software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar. 3. Knowledge of quality control standards: Knowledge of quality control standards, such as ISO 9001.
