Climate Tech Opportunity Mapping Internship in Chennai

We are working with a market-leading client in a specialised niche of the global printer and document solutions sector. You will be part of the core consulting team that is evaluating hundreds of emerging climate-tech opportunities across domains such as circular economy solutions, energy-efficient hardware, sustainable materials, waste-to-value, low-carbon manufacturing, and digital sustainability tools. This internship offers a unique chance to learn how SMEs can pivot into high-growth green markets, while leveraging their existing capabilities, supply chains, customer networks and technical know-how.

Selected Intern's Day-to-day Responsibilities Include

• Work closely with senior consultants to identify, evaluate, and shortlist promising climate-tech opportunities tailored to the client’s capabilities, investment appetite and long-term growth aspirations.
• Conduct deep-dive assessment of multiple climate-tech categories including but not limited to: circularity & recycling technologies, e-waste solutions, clean manufacturing, decarbonisation tools, energy-efficient devices, and other relevant emerging technologies.
• Interact with senior management from Indian and global SMEs, technology providers, and innovators to gather insights on trends, feasibility, and market readiness.
• Support the team in performing market needs assessment, TAM/SAM/SOM estimation, competitor landscaping, and opportunity prioritisation.
• Carry out detailed primary and secondary research, synthesise large datasets, evaluate business models, and present structured recommendations.
• Contribute to brainstorming sessions aimed at identifying how the client can repurpose existing assets, technologies and distribution channels towards climate-tech markets.
• Assist in creating client-ready reports, frameworks, presentations, and opportunity deep-dives.
