 Job Description: Freelance Civil Engineer (Commercial + Residential Project)Position: Freelance Civil EngineerProject Type: Small Commercial + Residential Mixed-Use DevelopmentLocation: West Bengal (Siliguri / Kolkata) – Site visit as requiredWork Mode: Part-time / Project-based / Freelance**🔧 Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & FeasibilityConduct detailed site evaluation, land measurement, and feasibility study. Prepare FSI, FAR, and permissible construction calculations for G+1 / G+4 mixed projects. Provide profit–loss projection, cost-benefit analysis, and ROI calculations for the project. Suggest best layout options (commercial shops + residential units). 2. Design & DrawingsPrepare complete architectural & civil designs, including: Concept plan 2D AutoCAD plan 3D front elevation Structural drawings Floor plans (shops + residential units) Ensure designs meet government norms, fire safety, and building bylaws. 3. Project Costing & BudgetingPrepare item-wise BOQ (Bill of Quantities) Estimate material quantity, labour charges, and total construction cost. Provide per square foot costing (foundation to finishing). Calculate expected profit margin based on land value + project sale/rental model. 4. Approvals & DocumentationAssist in preparing: Building plan approval papers Structural safety certificate Municipality / Panchayat documentation Sanction plan follow-ups Coordinate with architect, surveyor, and municipality officials if needed. 5. Site Supervision & Quality ControlPeriodic site visits for: Checking RCC quality Material quality Contractor’s work progress Provide weekly progress reports Ensure structural safety and quality control at every stage. 6. Vendor & Contractor CoordinationHelp in hiring reliable: Mason / contractor Electrician Plumber Fabrication & finishing vendors Cross-check contractor quotations to avoid over-billing. 7. Profit & Loss AnalysisPrepare complete project financial modelling, including: Project cost Sale value / Rental value Net profit Return on investment (ROI) Monthly income estimate (if rented shops/flats) 8. Reporting & DocumentationProvide detailed: PDF reports Excel cost sheets Design files Engineering certificates Clear communication on timeline, budget, risks & solutions. 🧠 Skills & QualificationsDiploma/B.Tech in Civil Engineering Strong in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Excel, BOQ & Estimation 3–10 years experience in residential/commercial buildings Knowledge of West Bengal building bylaws is an advantage Ability to work independently as a freelancer 💰 Expected DeliverablesComplete design + plan + 3D Cost estimate (Material + Labour) Profit / Loss projection Approved sanction plan guidance Site monitoring report (if needed) 📞 Suitable ForFreelance civil engineers Project consultants Small architects with civil background Engineers who take project-based assignments
