Role & responsibilities

• Book closure and preparation of financial statements
• Responsible for ensuring timely closure of books of accounts as per closing calendar
• Responsible for preparation and presentation of financial statements on a monthly basis for internal circulation, Review, monitoring and reporting
• Assisting in management reporting and other regulatory reporting
• Review of general ledger and other financial data on a monthly basis
• Assisting AVP-Corp Accounting in implementing best practices in quality of disclosures in financial statements, Statutory Audit
• Responsible for ensuring Audit requirements laid down by IRDA related to financial statements are fully complied Co-ordination in the statutory audit process

Preferred candidate profile

• Overall 10 years of experience in core accounting function, out of which 5-6 years in Insurance Industry would be desired
• CA Inter or Graduate/Post graduate Degree in Accounting or Finance with relevant experience in core accounting team in an Insurance Company or Service industry.
• Should have had exposure to handling large volume transactions. Data base management skills would be an added advantage.

Technical Skills :-

• Knowledge about tools such as Excel, Access, etc
• Knowledge of accounting regulations and audit processes is a must
• Exposure to planning and analysis roles is desirable
• Good communication and articulation skills in English are a must
