Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic

Chief Engineer

to lead and manage all aspects of

MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing)

and

Guest Room Projects

. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering design, project execution, vendor coordination, and quality assurance, with a focus on delivering high-end hospitality or residential projects.

Experience in hotel projects or hotel renovations is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution

Lead the planning, design review, and execution of MEP and guest room fit-out projects.
Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.

Technical Oversight

Review and approve MEP designs, BOQs, and technical specifications.
Ensure compliance with local codes, international standards, and sustainability practices.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to design intent.

Team & Vendor Management

Manage internal engineering teams and external consultants/contractors.
Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and oversee procurement of MEP systems and materials.
Ensure smooth coordination between civil, interior, and MEP teams.

Guest Room Engineering

Oversee the engineering aspects of guest room design including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and automation systems.
Ensure guest comfort, energy efficiency, and integration of smart technologies.

Compliance & Safety

Ensure all engineering activities comply with statutory regulations and safety standards.
Implement risk management strategies and conduct regular audits.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor s or Master s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.
Minimum 12 years of experience in MEP and interior projects, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Experience in hotel projects or hotel renovations is highly preferred.
Proven track record in delivering hotel, resort, or luxury residential projects.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, fire safety, plumbing, and BMS.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and engineering software tools.

Preferred Attributes:

PMP or equivalent project management certification.
Experience with green building certifications (LEED, IGBC, etc.).
Familiarity with smart room technologies and energy-efficient systems.
