Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic

Chief Engineer

to lead and manage all aspects of

MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing)

and

Guest Room Projects

. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering design, project execution, vendor coordination, and quality assurance, with a focus on delivering high-end hospitality or residential projects.

Experience in hotel projects or hotel renovations is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution

  • Lead the planning, design review, and execution of MEP and guest room fit-out projects.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.

Technical Oversight

  • Review and approve MEP designs, BOQs, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, international standards, and sustainability practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to design intent.

Team & Vendor Management

  • Manage internal engineering teams and external consultants/contractors.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and oversee procurement of MEP systems and materials.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between civil, interior, and MEP teams.

Guest Room Engineering

  • Oversee the engineering aspects of guest room design including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and automation systems.
  • Ensure guest comfort, energy efficiency, and integration of smart technologies.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with statutory regulations and safety standards.
  • Implement risk management strategies and conduct regular audits.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in MEP and interior projects, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in hotel projects or hotel renovations is highly preferred.

  • Proven track record in delivering hotel, resort, or luxury residential projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, fire safety, plumbing, and BMS.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and engineering software tools.

Preferred Attributes:

  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience with green building certifications (LEED, IGBC, etc.).
  • Familiarity with smart room technologies and energy-efficient systems.
