Perform hazardous area classification (HAC) and zoning based on IEC/EN standards. Evaluate and select ATEX-certified electrical and non-electrical equipment for use in Zone 0, Zone 1, and Zone 2. Conduct risk assessments, ignition source identification , and explosion protection document (EPD) preparation. Support HAZOP, HAZID, and SIL studies from an ATEX and explosion safety perspective. Coordinate inspection, maintenance, and certification of ATEX equipment as per IEC 60079 series standards. Provide technical training and awareness to internal teams on ATEX principles and equipment usage. Liaise with Notified Bodies , certification agencies, and vendors regarding ATEX conformity and documentation. Support engineering teams during project design, construction, and commissioning phases to ensure ATEX compliance. Develop and maintain internal ATEX compliance audit programs and monitor corrective actions. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in petrochemical, chemical, or oil & gas industries handling ATEX responsibilities. Bachelors / Masters degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or relevant discipline. ATEX / IECEx certification (CompEx, TV, or equivalent) preferred. Strong knowledge of IEC 60079 , EN 1127 , and other related explosion protection standards.
