Job Title: Bengali Chef Location: Bangaluru Job Type: Full-time Salary: 20,000k - 28,000k Reports To: Restaurant Manager Job Summary:We are seeking a passionate and skilled Bengali Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of traditional Bengali cuisine, with the ability to create authentic, flavorful dishes that reflect the rich culinary heritage of West Bengal and Bangladesh. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook a wide variety of traditional Bengali dishes including but not limited to: fish curries (e.g., Shorshe Ilish), meat dishes (e.g., Kosha Mangsho), vegetarian delicacies (e.g., Shukto). Develop new menu items that maintain the authenticity of Bengali cuisine while appealing to diverse palates. Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation. Supervise and train junior kitchen staff in Bengali cooking techniques and food safety protocols. Ensure all kitchen operations comply with food safety and sanitation regulations. Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and minimize food wastage. Collaborate with the management team to plan menus and specials for events or festivals (e.g., Durga Puja, Pohela Boishakh). Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times. Requirements:Proven experience as a Bengali Chef or similar role in a restaurant or hotel. In-depth knowledge of Bengali culinary traditions, ingredients, and cooking methods. Ability to work under pressure and maintain high energy levels. Strong leadership and communication skills. Formal culinary training is preferred but not required if balanced by significant experience. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with regional variations of Bengali cuisine (e.g., Dhakai, Kolkata, Sylheti). Experience with menu planning and kitchen budgeting. Bilingual proficiency in Bengali and English is a plus.
