Channel Head

As an experienced and dynamic Channel Head for our satellite news channel, your role will be crucial in leading the team towards achieving growth, viewership, and brand credibility. Your responsibilities will include overseeing editorial strategy, programming, production, team management, and overall channel performance. Key Responsibilities: - Strategic Leadership: - Define and execute the vision, mission, and editorial strategy of the channel. - Develop content plans in alignment with market trends and audience preferences. - Content & Programming: - Supervise the selection and scheduling of news and current affairs content. - Ensure high journalistic standards, accuracy, and ethical reporting. - Coordinate with programming, production, and technical teams for seamless broadcasting. - Team Management: - Lead, manage, and motivate editorial and technical teams. - Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and identify training needs. - Revenue & Growth: - Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to drive TRPs and advertising revenue. - Identify opportunities for brand expansion, special shows, and viewer engagement. - Compliance & Quality Control: - Ensure compliance with broadcasting regulations (e.g., NBSA, TRAI). - Maintain editorial integrity and crisis management procedures. - Stakeholder Communication: - Liaise with senior management, external partners, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders. Key Requirements: - Graduate/Postgraduate in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field. - Minimum 10 years of experience in television news media, preferably with satellite channels. - Deep understanding of newsroom operations, programming, and media law. - Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. - Strong network within the media industry and understanding of regional/national news dynamics. - Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
