Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Certification Process Management

  • Oversee end-to-end certification activities under NPOP, NOP, CU and other organic standards.
  • Ensure timely processing, review, approval, and issuance of certificates as per scheme guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with accreditation bodies requirements (APEDA, USDA, etc.).
  • Monitor renewal processes, surveillance requirements, and inspection cycles.

2 Review & Verification -NC (Non-Conformance) Closer Organic Certification

  • Review NCs raised during internal inspections, external inspections, audits, and surveillance.
  • Verify submitted corrective actions (CA) and preventive actions (PA) from farmers, ICS staff, and cluster coordinators.
  • Ensure corrective actions meet NPOP / NOP / EU / USDA / PGS-India standard requirements.

3 Documentation & Evidence Checking & Training

  • Check documentary evidence such as:
  • Land records
  • Input records (seeds, fertilizers, plant protection)
  • Compost/organic input preparation records
  • Field activity records
  • ICS register & farmer files
  • Verify GPS, field map corrections, and compliance documentation.
  • Prepare NC closure reports for internal review and certification decision.
  • Generate cluster-wise, ICS-wise NC pending & closure status reports.
  • Align reporting with CB auditors & certification decision-making team.
  • Review application forms, farm documents, ICS files, inspection reports, traceability documents, and transaction certificates.
  • Coordinate with Project Executive, LRP, Internal inspectors, farmers, exporters, processors, and internal teams for certification-related queries.
  • Liaise with Certification Bodies and regulatory authorities for audits and compliance.
  • Guide and supervise certification executives, data entry operators, and document reviewers.
  • Provide training on NPOP/NOP standards and certification procedures.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Agriculture, Organic Farming, Forestry, Food Technology, or related fields.
  • Minimum

    3–5 year’s

    experience in Organic Certification (NPOP/NOP/CU and TC).
  • Experience in dealing with APEDA, USDA NOP, Certification Bodies preferred.
