CATEGORY MANAGER - GENERAL MERCHANDISING Additional Roles & Responsibilities Job Title: Category Manager (Home Appliances) As a Category Manager for Home Appliances in a fast-paced quick commerce environment, you will be responsible for driving the strategy and growth of the Home Appliances category. You will lead the category’s product selection, pricing, inventory management, vendor relations, and marketing activities to ensure maximum profitability and customer satisfaction. Your role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, operations, logistics, and sales to ensure timely delivery and high-quality service to customers. Key Responsibilities: Category Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute the category strategy for Home Appliances to achieve business objectives, including revenue growth, market share expansion, and profitability. Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor strategies. Establish KPIs to monitor the performance of the category and take corrective actions as needed. Product Selection & Sourcing: Curate a comprehensive product range that meets the needs of quick commerce customers. Negotiate with suppliers and manufacturers to source products that offer competitive pricing and high margins. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the best possible product assortment and availability. Pricing & Promotion: Develop competitive pricing strategies that align with market trends, customer demand, and business objectives. Drive promotional strategies (discounts, offers, bundles) to boost sales and customer engagement. Monitor and analyze the impact of pricing and promotional strategies on sales and margins. Vendor & Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and third-party vendors. Manage vendor performance, negotiate terms, and ensure timely product deliveries. Conduct regular reviews of vendor performance based on quality, pricing, and delivery timelines. Inventory Management: Work closely with the operations team to ensure optimal stock levels, preventing both stockouts and overstock situations. Forecast demand accurately based on historical data, seasonal trends, and market conditions. Monitor inventory turnover and initiate stock replenishment strategies. Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze sales data, customer behavior, and product performance to make informed decisions on assortment, pricing, and promotions. Use data insights to identify growth opportunities, optimize product listings, and increase conversion rates. Continuously monitor category performance and adjust strategies accordingly. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with marketing teams to develop targeted marketing campaigns that highlight key products and promotions. Work with logistics and fulfillment teams to ensure smooth operations and quick delivery times. Coordinate with the customer support team to resolve customer complaints or issues related to home appliances. Customer Experience & Satisfaction : Focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience by ensuring product quality, fast delivery, and responsive customer service. Monitor customer feedback and reviews to address concerns and improve product offerings. Track key customer satisfaction metrics and implement improvements based on insights. Additional Skills Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. In-depth understanding of pricing strategies, promotions, and product lifecycle management. Proficiency in MS Excel, data analysis tools, and category management software. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and results-oriented environment. Strong business acumen with the ability to understand customer needs and market trends. Highly motivated, self-driven, and results-oriented. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Strong understanding of supply chain, inventory management, and vendor negotiations. Proven track record in driving category growth, managing P&L, and working with cross-functional teams.
