Role Summary

Category Manager (Marketplace & E-commerce)

high-ownership, growth-focused role


Key Responsibilities

📊 Category Growth & P&L Ownership

  • Own and scale the

    P&L

    for your category across all e-commerce and marketplace platforms.
  • Develop and execute pricing, promotion, and channel strategies to drive revenue, margin, and AOV growth.
  • Scale the category from

    1 → 10

    through structured planning, analytics, and data-driven interventions.

🛒 Marketplace Strategy & Channel Optimization

  • Define and execute the

    channel mix and marketplace growth strategy

    (Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, etc.).
  • Build and optimize category assortment, pricing, and promotional calendars to improve visibility and conversion.
  • Partner with the performance marketing team to drive traffic, ROI, and brand share of voice across platforms.

🔍 Market & Competitor Intelligence

  • Conduct in-depth market and competitor benchmarking to identify trends, gaps, and new opportunities.
  • Monitor product launches, pricing, and category movements to inform strategy and maintain a competitive edge.

📦 Inventory Planning & Demand Forecasting

  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate

    inventory planning and forecasting.

  • Manage stock levels, product availability, and timely execution of new product launches.

📈 Performance Tracking & Insights

  • Track category performance across all digital platforms against weekly and monthly targets.
  • Use analytics to generate actionable insights that enhance performance, profitability, and customer experience.

🤝 Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams — marketing, design, operations, and customer experience — to deliver category goals.
  • Influence cross-functional decisions using data-backed insights and structured communication.


Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience in

    e-commerce, D2C, or marketplace category management

    , ideally with digital-first or high-growth brands.
  • Proven experience in

    scaling categories (1 → 10)

    and managing end-to-end

    P&L ownership.

  • Strong analytical skills and a data-led approach to solving growth challenges.
  • Hands-on operator with a

    bias for action, agility, and ownership.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to drive execution across teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset — thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
