Category Lead Oil

*

Role Objective:

Support the Category Head in strategic and operational aspects of category

procurement and lead

key category sub-segments or process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the revenue and margins including portfolio planning.
  • Assist in market analysis, and supplier engagement.
  • Work with demand teams to understand gaps in value proposition to

customers.

  • Manage select sub-categories/ Regions independently.
  • Handle price benchmarking, negotiation process, and procurement

dashboards.

  • Liaise with regional buyers for demand signals and fulfillment alignment.
  • Track procurement contracts, delivery schedules, and documentation.
  • Identify cost-saving, quality improvement, or sourcing diversification

opportunities.

  • Build monthly, quarterly and yearly forecasts with the planning team.

KPIs:

  • Revenue (to be owned independently for a sub-cat or co-own with category

head)

  • Margins (to be owned independently for a sub-cat or co-own with category

head)

  • Timeliness of PO and contract execution
  • Data accuracy and reporting hygiene
  • Inventory turns / working capital targets

Candidate Profile:

Domain: Preferred domain in E-commerce/B2C companies

5+ years of experience

  • Manage the edible oil business

    take care of sales, profits, and overall growth of the category.
  • Choose which oils to sell

    (like sunflower, mustard, or palm oil) based on what customers want and whats trending.
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturers

    to buy oil at good prices and maintain quality.
  • Set prices and plan offers or discounts

    to increase sales.
  • Keep track of stock and supply

    to make sure products are always available.
  • Study the market and competitors

    to stay updated on price changes and demand.
  • Plan promotions with the sales and marketing teams

    to reach more buyers.
  • Check performance regularly

    see which products sell well and which need improvement.
  • Find new ways to grow business or reduce costs

    for better profits.
  • Work closely with other departments

    like finance, logistics, and operations for smooth functioning.
