This role typically combines responsibilities from both front-office cashiering and back-office accounting, suited for mid-sized hospitality operations.

Job Summary:

The Cashier cum Accountant Assistant is responsible for managing daily cash transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, and supporting the accounting function of the hotel. This role ensures timely and accurate handling of guest billing, vendor payments, and internal financial reporting in compliance with hotel policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities: Cashiering Duties:

  • Handle all cash, credit card, and digital transactions for guests and internal departments.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, and change as required.
  • Reconcile cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Ensure secure and accurate cash handling procedures.
  • Deposit daily collections to the bank as per hotel policy.

Accounting Duties:

  • Record and maintain daily financial transactions in accounting software
  • Process vendor invoices, verify bills, and prepare payments.
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist in preparing daily revenue reports, bank reconciliations, and petty cash statements.
  • Support monthly closing activities and financial reporting.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.
  • Comply with statutory requirements like GST, TDS, and other local taxes.

Administrative Support:

  • Coordinate with other departments (Front Office, F&B, Housekeeping) for accurate billing and inventory tracking.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all financial data.
  • Assist in preparing internal and external audit documentation.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
  • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality sector.
  • Skills:
  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of hotel PMS and POS systems is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.

Work Conditions:

  • Full-time position with rotational shifts (if cashiering is front-office based).
  • May require working on weekends and holidays.
  • Office and front-desk environment (depending on duty schedule).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹13,000.00 per month
