Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and creative Chef to oversee the kitchen operations of our 3-star hotel. The Chef will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, managing kitchen staff, maintaining hygiene standards, controlling food costs, and ensuring guest satisfaction through exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and present a variety of cuisines (continental, Indian, and regional as required by the hotel).
  • Supervise kitchen staff, allocate duties, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Ensure food is prepared according to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen as per food safety regulations.
  • Monitor inventory, control wastage, and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Assist in menu planning, pricing, and introduction of seasonal or special dishes.
  • Coordinate with service staff to deliver timely and well-presented food to guests.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, health & safety, and statutory regulations.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to maintain consistency in food quality.
  • Handle guest feedback related to food and take corrective action when required.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management / Culinary Arts or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience as a Chef (3–5 years preferred) in a hotel or restaurant setting.
  • Strong knowledge of multiple cuisines (continental, Indian, Chinese, regional).
  • Good leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (FSSAI norms, HACCP preferred).
  • Ability to work under pressure and during peak hours.
  • Creativity in food presentation and menu innovation.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, shift-based role (including weekends and holidays).
