Duties

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
• Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments with precision and confidence
• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly and addressing their needs promptly
• Assist customers with product demos and answer questions about merchandise to promote sales
• Maintain organized checkout areas, ensuring quick and efficient transactions during busy periods
• Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
• Use strong communication skills to engage with bilingual customers and provide clear assistance
• Practice excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or directing calls within the store

Experience

• Prior cashiering experience in a retail environment or grocery store setting is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate cash handling and transaction balancing
• Proven ability to upsell products and promote store promotions effectively
• Supervising experience is a plus—ready to lead by example and support team members when needed
• Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse customer needs effectively
• Strong communication skills to ensure clear interactions with customers and team members
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking procedures, and grocery store operations will help you excel in this role
