Career Guidance Counsellor

Key Responsibilities Student Guidance & Counselling

• Provide individual and group counselling sessions for students.
• Help students identify their strengths, interests, and career aspirations through psychometric tests and counselling tools.
• Guide students on subject selection, career planning, higher education, and professional courses.

College & Career Planning

• Provide information on national and international universities, courses, and admission processes.
• Assist students in preparing for competitive exams (NEET, JEE, CUET, UPSC Foundation, etc.).
• Support students in building profiles, resumes, and personal statements for higher studies.
• Provide interview preparation including performing mock interviews and writing a statement of purpose

Workshops & Awareness Programs

• Organize career fairs, expert talks, and seminars with industry professionals.
• Conduct orientation programs for parents to align them with students career goals.
• Arrange sessions on emerging careers, skill development, and vocational options.

Student Development

• Encourage holistic development by providing guidance on soft skills, time management, goal setting, and decision-making.
• Support students dealing with academic stress, peer pressure, and exam anxiety.

Coordination

• Collaborate with teachers and parents to track and support student progress.
• Network with universities, career experts, and institutions for student benefit.
• Maintain and update a career resource center/library for students.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain student counselling records and progress reports.
• Submit periodic updates and reports to the school management.

Qualifications & Skills

• Masters Degree in Psychology / Counselling / Career Guidance / Education (preferred).
• Certification in Career Counselling or Psychometric Testing (desirable).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in school or educational counselling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of CBSE curriculum, higher education systems in India and abroad.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Ernakulam, Kerala: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
