To assist in purchasing non-fiction reading lists supplied by academic departments. To deliver quality library induction sessions for all students and staff. Assess and revise the library stock regularly. To compile relevant reading lists for teaching departments. Create and maintain library display boards and liaise with relevant parties on any digital displays. Contribute to curriculum development through attendance at relevant departmental discussions and informal liaison with individual teachers. To lead on the school’s priority of enhancing literacy standards (working closely with key staff such as the English department). To provide guidance and advice to readers and library users. To manage the issues and returns of books and other materials. To lead on the processes connected with the cataloguing of new materials. To lead on the arrangement of books and other resources for effective retrieval, including classification and cataloguing of all library resources. To participate, when required, in the supervision of students at specific break times. Supporting the development of other technological initiatives within the library and supporting students and staff in their use. To participate in the school CCA programme, offering specific clubs and societies in the library facility. Follow the established school behavioural policy in the library, implementing rules and safety regulations, ensuring all students understand them. Use technology with students as a tool for learning. Engage with the school data systems and procedures, following guidelines to generate apt data concerning student performance and progression. Attend, if relevant and requested, staff and parent consultation meetings, providing constructive recommendations for student progression. Attend and constructively contribute to all Departmental and Faculty meetings. Establish a professional rapport and relationships with students, staff, and parents. Involvement in INSET sessions and staff induction requirements. Supervise students on potential class and field trips, and during school events. Involvement in specific duties required for the running of the senior school, such as scheduled supervision sessions (for meals, cover lessons etc.). As with all colleagues, monitor students’ overall wellbeing and liaise with school counsellors and other staff members when there are concerns or issues. Attend ongoing learning initiatives like CPD workshops, lectures, conferences, and other events where you are able to expand education networks. Other reasonable requests outlined by the Head of Seniors and/or Master Desirable criteria: Previous experience with international education, working within a British curriculum environment.
