Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Follow dieticians instructions for patient-specific meals (diabetic, low-salt, liquid diets, etc.).
  • Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards in the kitchen.
  • Plan menus ensuring variety, nutrition, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Supervise kitchen helpers and allocate duties.
  • Monitor inventory, request supplies, and minimize food wastage.
  • Ensure timely service of meals as per hospital schedule.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong knowledge of cooking and nutrition for special diets.
  • Expertise in large-scale food preparation.
  • Good understanding of hygiene and food safety regulations.
  • Time management and multitasking ability.
  • Team management and coordination skills.
  • Basic inventory and cost-control knowledge.
