Job Description

Job Title: Business Development Officer (BDO)

Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Department: Business Development / Sales

Reports To: Business Development Manager / Head of Sales

Job Summary:

The Business Development Officer (BDO) will be responsible for driving business growth by identifying new market opportunities, building strong client relationships, and achieving revenue targets. The role requires proactive client engagement, effective communication, and strategic sales planning to support the company's expansion in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities in line with company objectives.

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.

Understand customer needs and present tailored solutions, products, or services.

Generate leads through networking, cold calling, references, and market intelligence.

Prepare and deliver business presentations, proposals, and contracts.

Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales/revenue targets.

Track market trends, competitors, and industry developments to support strategic decision-making.

Coordinate with internal teams (operations, finance, customer support) to ensure smooth client onboarding and service delivery.

Maintain proper documentation of sales activities in CRM or reporting systems.

Represent the company at trade fairs, industry events, and promotional activities when required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field (MBA preferred but not mandatory).

25 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development.

Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Goal-oriented with proven ability to meet or exceed targets.

Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Willingness to travel as per business needs.
