Job Summary

The Business Development Manager – Export Sales will be responsible for driving international business growth by identifying new markets, developing strategic partnerships, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with international pharmaceutical trade regulations. The role involves end-to-end handling of export business for APIs, formulations, and other pharma products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities in international markets for APIs, formulations, and other pharmaceutical products.
  • Develop strategic business plans to achieve export sales targets and expand the company’s global presence.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential clients, distributors, and partners.
  • Manage regulatory and documentation requirements for product registration and export in respective countries.
  • Handle inquiries, quotations, negotiations, and finalization of export contracts.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Regulatory, Production, QA/QC, Logistics, and Finance) for smooth order execution.
  • Participate in international exhibitions, trade fairs, and business meetings to promote products and strengthen relationships.
  • Maintain and grow existing client relationships through excellent service and support.
  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade laws, export documentation, and company policies.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of international pharmaceutical business and export documentation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship management and networking abilities.
  • Understanding of global regulatory frameworks (e.g., WHO-GMP, EU-GMP, USFDA, etc.).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
  • Ability to work independently and achieve targets under deadlines.

Qualification & Experience

  • Education:

    B.Pharm / M.Pharm / B.Sc / M.Sc / MBA (International Business / Marketing preferred)
  • Experience:

    Minimum 4–8 years of experience in

    Pharmaceutical Export / International Business Development

    (API or Formulations).
  • Markets Exposure:

    Experience in regulated and semi-regulated markets (e.g., Africa, Asia, CIS, Middle East, Latin America, Europe).
