About The Role

Tourism Australia is a multinational organisation dedicated to promoting Australia as a premier travel destination. We work closely with various stakeholders, including State & Territory Tourism Organisations, Convention Bureaus, and key distribution partners, to enhance Australia's tourism industry.We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in India. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening the Aussie Specialist Program (“ASP”) Network, executing successful partnership campaigns, planning and delivering trade events, and bolstering the Business Events (“BE”) segment. This role requires collaboration with various departments and stakeholders to drive holiday and BE visitation and spend into Australia.

Responsibilities

This role is a permanent full-time opportunity based in our Mumbai office and reports into the Country Manager, India & Gulf. You will be responsible for:
  • Strengthening the ASP Network to develop new products and experiences for High Yield Travelers.
  • Executing successful partnership campaigns with Key Distribution Partners (“KDP”s), Online Travel Agents (“OTA”s), non-travel partners, and airlines.
  • Planning and delivering trade events such as Australia Marketplace India (“AMI”), Australian Tourism Exchange (“ATE”), and Corroboree.
  • Driving incentive travel into Australia by bolstering the BE segment.
  • Creating and supporting opportunities to develop Australian travel experiences through partnerships.
  • Aligning quality partners for major consumer and trade marketing programs.
  • Execute incentive strategies and programs to increase visitation, yield, and dispersal.
  • Manage and lead a small team.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum ten years of solid experience in the tourism industry, particularly in distribution development and partnership building.
  • Highly developed English language skills (reading, writing, and oral).
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Excellent negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Willingness to be flexible with working hours and travelling as part of a multinational organisation
