Job Description – Business Analyst

Position: Business Analyst
Department: Business / IT / Product Management
Reports to: Project Manager / Product Owner

Role Overview

The Business Analyst (BA) acts as the bridge between business stakeholders and the technical team. The BA is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, translating them into functional specifications, and ensuring solutions meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and document business requirements through interviews, workshops, surveys, and analysis of existing systems.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications, use cases, user stories, and process flows.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (management, clients, end-users, and developers) to align requirements and expectations.
  • Analyze current business processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
  • Work closely with the QA team to develop test cases and ensure solution quality.
  • Support project managers in defining scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Facilitate communication between business and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist in change management and training for end-users.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience as a Business Analyst (depending on level: Junior / Senior).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in creating BRD (Business Requirement Document), FRD (Functional Requirement Document), and user stories.
  • Knowledge of tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.
  • Good understanding of SDLC (Waterfall, Agile methodologies).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in data analysis (SQL, Excel, and Power BI).
  • Certification: CBAP, CCBA, or Agile Certified Business Analyst.
