Job Description

As a Brand Manager for Writing Instruments in the FMCG sector, you will play a crucial role in leading strategic initiatives for the writing instruments category. Your primary focus will be on understanding FMCG dynamics and consumer behavior, particularly in the stationery and writing products segment. It will be your responsibility to drive brand growth through strategic planning, communication, innovation, market analysis, and the execution of brand and product initiatives. Your key responsibilities will include developing and implementing brand strategies to enhance brand equity across consumer and institutional segments. You will define clear positioning for various writing instrument sub-brands such as premium pens, student-friendly markers, and office supplies. Additionally, you will lead the development of ATL and BTL campaigns, collaborate with creative and media agencies, and ensure impactful marketing messages tailored to different target demographics. Innovation in writing instruments will be a crucial aspect of your role, involving identifying consumer needs, leading new product development, and overseeing the product lifecycle from concept to commercialization. You will conduct market research, gather consumer insights, analyze user preferences, and fine-tune offerings and messaging based on feedback. Monitoring competitor activities and market trends will also be essential to identify threats and opportunities in the market. Tracking campaign performance, analyzing ROI, generating reports on brand health metrics, category growth, and sales trends will be part of your responsibilities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including R&D, Packaging, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance will ensure alignment and seamless execution of brand initiatives. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (MBA preferred), along with 8-12 years of relevant experience in FMCG brand management, preferably in writing instruments, stationery, or related categories. Strong understanding of consumer marketing, product development, and FMCG channel dynamics, excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills are required. A creative mindset, commercial acumen, and proficiency in tools like MS Excel, PowerPoint, and market research tools are essential.
