In addition to the magazine, we offer a variety of children s books storybooks, activity books, and learning tools designed to encourage reading and imagination. We are now expanding our reach into government, municipal, and aided schools in Mumbai and are seeking experienced sales professionals with strong networks in the education sector.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and driven Government Sales Representative to lead, outreach and institutional book sales across government-run and aided schools in Mumbai. This role is ideal for someone with a proven track record in school-based sales and strong connections within the local government education system, including BMC and state education bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • School Outreach:

    Engage with government, municipal, and aided schools to promote Champak magazine subscriptions and books.
  • Stakeholder Management:

    Build and maintain strong relationships with school principals, BMC education officers, zonal heads, and local education department officials.
  • Sales Strategy:

    Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets through institutional partnerships and bulk orders.
  • Approvals & Documentation:

    Manage proposals, documentation, approvals, and follow-ups with government bodies and education offices.
  • Events & Activations:

    Organize or participate in reading programs, book fairs, and awareness campaigns in schools.
  • Market Intelligence:

    Monitor government initiatives and school-level needs to tailor offerings and identify opportunities.
  • Reporting:

    Maintain detailed records of school visits, contacts, conversations, and conversions in sales tracking tools.

Requirements:

  • Experience:

    Minimum 3 years of experience in sales or institutional outreach, preferably in educational publishing, NGO/CSR school projects, or government education programs.
  • Network:

    Strong existing connections with BMC schools, aided schools, and local education officers.
  • Education:

    Graduate in Business, Education, or a related field.
  • Skills:

    Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English, Hindi, and Marathi.
  • Mobility:

    Must be comfortable traveling across Mumbai for school visits and official meetings.
  • Independence:

    Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of handling government accounts with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with BMC education system, government school tender processes, or public-private partnership models in education.
  • Experience handling institutional book sales or school subscription programs.
