About Bharat Banking

The increasing income diversification, evolution of the tech stack, various government schemes to improve livelihoods, and integrating the country via roads and the internet have provided strong tailwinds to the rural and semi urban (RUSU) or Bharat markets
To better capitalize on the growth runway and open the world of possibilities for the Bharat customer, the bank has set up a separate Bharat Bank vertical It is an amalgamation of products and geography, handling certain core products across the country and all the products in the RUSU branches The objective is to accelerate the growth journey by expanding distribution reach via branches, partnerships, and digital presence, creating tailored products and processes, and using the One Axis strategy to harness synergies in all parts of the Bank to deliver to the Bharat customer The Bank also continues to focus on growing the book profitably by enhancing productivity, improving operational efficiency to reduce cost, and containing risk by leveraging technology such as AI and ML & rigorous portfolio monitoring About the Role -Identify new business opportunities and generate leads for potential microfinance clients to expand the wholesale lending portfolio -Collaborate with the Head of Wholesale Lending to create business development strategies that enhance the bank s presence in the microfinance market -Maintain a pipeline of potential clients and regularly update management on progress toward business development goals Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: -Work closely with internal departments, including Credit Risk, Legal, Operations, and Compliance, to ensure smooth execution of loan transactions and adherence to bank policies -Collaborate with the Product and Treasury teams to structure and price lending solutions that meet both client needs and the bank s risk-adjusted return goals Client Support & Advisory: -Provide advisory services to MFIs, helping them understand the bank s lending products and guiding them through the application and approval process -Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments that could impact clients, and offer timely insights to help them manage risks -Address client issues and complaints promptly, working to resolve any challenges that may affect their banking experience Reporting & Documentation: -Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, loan agreements, and credit approvals in the bank s system -Prepare periodic reports for senior management on portfolio performance, client engagement, and market trends -Ensure that all client documentation is complete, legally compliant, and properly filed


Client Relationship Management: -Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with microfinance institutions (MFIs) and other key clients in the microfinance sector -Serve as the primary point of contact for MFIs, ensuring timely and effective communication regarding their lending needs, loan servicing, and any issues that arise -Understand client needs and proactively offer tailored financial solutions, products, and services that align with their growth strategies Portfolio Management: -Assist in managing a portfolio of loans to MFIs, including onboarding new clients, structuring loan products, and overseeing disbursements -Regularly monitor the performance of the loan portfolio to ensure compliance with lending terms and the bank s credit policies -Ensure timely collections and loan repayments from clients, minimizing delinquencies and non-performing assets

Qualifications

4 - 7 years of experience in wholesale banking, lending, or microfinance, with a proven ability to manage client relationships and lending portfolios
Strong understanding of credit analysis, risk management, and financial products related to microfinance Experience working with or lending to microfinance institutions is preferred Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and stakeholders

Role Proficiencies:
Strong relationship-building and client management skills In-depth understanding of credit processes, lending products, and risk assessment in wholesale banking Ability to analyze financial statements and conduct credit risk assessments Proactive, self-motivated, and goal-oriented, with a keen ability to identify business opportunities Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail
