What would you do?
We help clients address quality and productivity issues, keep pace with customer expectations, navigate regulatory and operational pressures and ensure business sustainability by transforming their banking operations into an agile, resilient operating model. Com.Bkg- Credit UW stands for Commercial Banking Credit Underwriting. It involves evaluating the creditworthiness of businesses applying for loans or credit. This process includes analyzing financial statements, assessing risk, and determining the terms of the credit. The goal is to ensure that the bank makes sound lending decisions while minimizing risk. Credit underwriters play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the bank. The Credit Lending processes includes initial set up of loan, detailed analysis of financials, setting covenants, analyzing the accounts receivable for borrowing base calculation for working capital line of credit, drafting a detailed credit memoranda by a detailed analysis of 5 Cs of Credit - Character, Capacity, Collateral, Capital and Current Market Conditions. Conduct detailed research on the financial history of businesses to determine their creditworthiness. Assess the risk parameters of the loan, borrower, and industry including the Financial performance of the borrower and guarantor, assessing the repayment capacity and recommending the future course of action in approving/declining/counter offer of business loans.
What are we looking for?
- Lead the team and provide subject matter expertise support for understanding Underwriting guidelines and utilizing the underlying financial statements to complete the underwriting
- Applying relevant accounting standards for fair and rigorous credit assessment
- Undertaking ad-hoc reporting / analysis requirements
- Analysis of financial statements including Income statement, Balance Sheet & cash flow of public & private companies for the credit appraisal process
- Normalizing the financial statement for exceptional and non-recurring items to arrive at the true profitability figures
- Calculating the Adjusted Net Worth, Recurring Cash Flows, Annual Debt Service, Contingent Liabilities, Custom Ratios, and other financial metrics
