Unidoc Healthcare is building a modern Hospital/Clinic Management & EMR platform with modules for OPD, IPD, lab, pharmacy, billing, queue management, and digital prescriptions. Our backend systems power real-time workflows in hospitals and clinics.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer (Java + Spring Boot) to join our core product team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs that are used by doctors, staff, and patients.

This is a hands-on, on-site role with strong ownership of modules and close collaboration with frontend, mobile, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java & Spring Boot.
• Work on database design and implementation (PostgreSQL/MySQL) – schemas, queries, indexing.
• Implement business logic for modules like OPD, IPD, lab, pharmacy, billing, queue, TV cast, etc.
• Integrate with web and mobile apps (Flutter/React) and third-party systems where needed.
• Use Spring Data JPA/Hibernate for ORM and efficient data access.
• Ensure performance, security, and reliability of backend services.
• Write clean, modular, testable code with proper documentation.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decisions.
• Debug production issues, optimize queries, and improve response times.
• Work closely with product and implementation teams to understand hospital workflows and translate them into robust backend solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Core Java (OOPs, collections, concurrency, exception handling, design patterns).
• Solid experience with Spring Boot (REST controllers, configuration, profiles, beans, etc.).
• Experience with Spring Data JPA / Hibernate.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL preferred).
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Familiarity with tools like Postman / Swagger for API testing.
• Good understanding of security best practices (authentication, authorization, roles, sensitive data).
• Experience with Git/GitHub and collaborative development (branches, pull requests).
• Ability to work on-site with the team in Vastral, Ahmedabad.

Good to Have (Not Mandatory)

• Experience in healthcare, HIMS, EMR, LIS or similar domains.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture, messaging queues, or event-driven systems.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.).
• Exposure to monitoring & logging tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, etc.).
• Understanding of scalability, caching, and performance tuning.
