Backend Developer

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer (Laravel) with strong expertise in building and maintaining scalable backend applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Laravel Framework, CI/CD pipelines, and working knowledge of multiple databases including SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB). The candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing backend services that power our products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain high-quality backend applications using Laravel PHP framework.
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs and backend services for web and mobile applications.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Work with relational (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (MongoDB, Redis, etc.) for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, mobile developers, and product teams to define requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Ensure applications are secure, scalable, and high performing.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Monitor, debug, and optimize applications for maximum performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and maintain coding standards.
• Stay updated with emerging backend technologies, Laravel updates, and DevOps practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 2-4 years of experience in backend development with strong expertise in Laravel PHP framework.
• Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
• Strong experience with databases: SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL)NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
• Familiarity with Docker / Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
• Understanding of version control systems (Git).
• Good knowledge of unit testing, integration testing, and debugging techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in agile/scrum environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Good to Have (Preferred):

• Experience in microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of GraphQL APIs.
• Familiarity with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.).
• Exposure to DevOps tools and automation.
• Contribution to open-source projects or strong GitHub portfolio.
