🔧 Role: Backend Engineer

As a Backend Engineer at Surge, you’ll be the architect of speed, reliability, and scalability. You’ll work on systems that handle live conversations, real-time events, and AI-powered workflows, all integrated into one seamless experience.

🎯 What You’ll Do

• Design and maintain scalable backend services for Surge’s live workspace.
• Build APIs that seamlessly connect chat, voice, video, and AI.
• Work with

  MongoDB and SQL

  to optimize high-volume systems.
• Implement

  real-time features

  with WebSockets and event-driven design.
• Deploy, monitor, and scale apps on

  AWS infrastructure

  .
• Automate workflows with

  GitHub Actions

  (CI/CD).
• Focus on performance, security, and scalability from day one.
• Collaborate with frontend and AI teams to ship ambitious ideas fast.

📌 What We’re Looking For

• 1–3 years of backend development experience with

  Node.js + TypeScript

  .
• Strong understanding of

  MongoDB and SQL

  .
• Experience building

  real-time communication systems

  .
• Solid knowledge of

  REST APIs

  and scalable design.
• Hands-on with

  AWS services

  (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch).
• Comfortable with

  Docker

  and containerization.
• CI/CD mindset using GitHub Actions or a similar tool.
• Believer in

  clarity, reliability, and simplicity in code
