And we need engineers who want their work to be remembered. 🔧 Role: Backend Engineer As a Backend Engineer at Surge, you’ll be the architect of speed, reliability, and scalability. You’ll work on systems that handle live conversations, real-time events, and AI-powered workflows, all integrated into one seamless experience. 🎯 What You’ll Do Design and maintain scalable backend services for Surge’s live workspace. Build APIs that seamlessly connect chat, voice, video, and AI. Work with MongoDB and SQL to optimize high-volume systems. Implement real-time features with WebSockets and event-driven design. Deploy, monitor, and scale apps on AWS infrastructure . Automate workflows with GitHub Actions (CI/CD). Focus on performance, security, and scalability from day one. Collaborate with frontend and AI teams to ship ambitious ideas fast. 📌 What We’re Looking For 1–3 years of backend development experience with Node.js + TypeScript . Strong understanding of MongoDB and SQL . Experience building real-time communication systems . Solid knowledge of REST APIs and scalable design. Hands-on with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch). Comfortable with Docker and containerization. CI/CD mindset using GitHub Actions or a similar tool.
