Azure SQL Database Administrator

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Azure SQL Database Administrator to manage and optimize SQL databases hosted in Azure environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure SQL Database , SQL Managed Instance , and SQL Server on IaaS , along with strong expertise in performance tuning , backup/restore , and cloud security practices. Key Responsibilities Administer, maintain, and optimize Azure SQL Databases , SQL Managed Instances , and SQL Server on Azure VMs Perform performance tuning , query optimization , and capacity planning using T-SQL and built-in tools Manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions across cloud and hybrid environments Implement database backup/recovery strategies and maintain business continuity plans Use Azure Monitor , Log Analytics , and ARM templates for performance tracking and infrastructure as code Enforce role-based access control (RBAC) and ensure database security, auditing , and compliance Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines for automated database deployments Support data migration from on-premises to Azure using best practices Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA , with at least 1–2 years in Azure environments Expertise in T-SQL , PowerShell , and SQL performance troubleshooting tools Experience with HA/DR configurations , backups , and security implementations Familiarity with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) , Azure Monitor , and Log Analytics Understanding of CI/CD practices for databases using tools like Azure DevOps Preferred Qualifications Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar certification Experience with hybrid cloud deployments and on-prem to Azure migration strategies Knowledge of data governance , compliance regulations (GDPR, HIPAA), and auditing in Azure Familiarity with other Azure database platforms like Cosmos DB , PostgreSQL , or MySQL is a plus Why Join Us?
