Role Description

Azure Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize large-scale data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Databricks.
• Develop and manage data lakes and data warehouses on Azure.
• Ensure high performance, availability, and reliability of data systems.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources using Azure services.
• Implement and enforce data governance, data quality, and data security practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data engineering solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues related to data workflows and storage.
• Automate data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration processes.
• Maintain documentation related to data models, processes, and infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer, with at least 2 years on Azure.
• Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL Database.
• Strong experience with SQL and Python or Scala.
• Familiarity with big data tools such as Apache Spark, Databricks, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git).
• Experience with data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing concepts.
• Strong understanding of cloud security and data privacy standards.
