Automation Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts for

   web, mobile, and API applications

   .
2. Implement and manage test automation frameworks such as

   Selenium WebDriver with Core Java

   ,

   Cucumber (BDD)

   , Appium, TestNG, JUnit, Cypress, etc.
3. Conduct

   functional, regression, performance, and API testing

   using industry-standard automation tools.
4. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA team members to identify and resolve defects early in the development cycle.
5. Develop and maintain

   BDD test scenarios and step definitions using Cucumber

   .
6. Integrate automated test scripts into

   CI/CD pipelines

   using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
7. Analyse test execution results, report and track defects using tools like

   JIRA, TestRail, or similar test management systems

   .
8. Ensure test scripts are

   efficient, reusable, scalable, and well-documented

   for continuous testing.
9. Stay updated with

   emerging automation tools, frameworks, and best practices

   in software quality assurance.
10. Mentor and support manual testers in transitioning to automation testing.

Technical Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of

  Selenium WebDriver with Core Java

  .
• Hands-on experience in

  BDD frameworks – Cucumber

  .
• Proficiency in

  API testing and automation (Postman, RestAssured, etc.)

  .
• Experience with

  TestNG / JUnit

  and version control tools (

  Git/GitHub

  ).
• Exposure to CI/CD tools (

  Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bamboo, etc.

  ).
• Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (

  JIRA, TestRail

  ).
• Understanding of automation frameworks (Hybrid, Data-Driven, Keyword-Driven, etc.).
