Automation Engineer

Role: Automation Engineer + AWS

Mode: Remote, but have to visit the office 2 days a month

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell and Python to optimize operational workflows.

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
• Collaborate with DevOps, IT, and development teams to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment tasks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation or CI/CD related issues in a timely manner.
• Document automation processes, scripts, and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of automation and CI/CD standards.

Required Skills

• Proficient in writing and debugging Shell scripts (Bash, sh, etc.).
• Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in developing reusable automation modules.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems and command line tools.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Added Advantages

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, preferably Terraform.
• Working knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, etc.).
• Experience with other CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins,GITHUB Actions).
• Exposure to monitoring and logging solutions.
• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker,K8.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Manage and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform and other IAC tools.
• Deploy, scale, and monitor containerized applications on AWS Kubernetes Service (EKS).
• Implement infrastructure automation, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Set up and manage logging, monitoring, and alerting for production environments.
• Ensure security best practices for cloud infrastructure, containers, and CI/CD workflows.
• Troubleshoot deployment and infrastructure issues, working closely with development teams.
• Continuously improve performance, cost efficiency, and automation across the DevOps pipeline.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, EKS, Key Vault, Networking, etc.).
• Proficiency in Jenkins and GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation.
• Strong knowledge of Docker and container orchestration.
• Expertise in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IAC).
• Experience with monitoring & logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Understanding of networking, security, and IAM in cloud environments.
• Experience with Linux system administration and troubleshooting
