Job summary

A Formwork Designer is responsible for creating efficient and accurate formwork systems for various construction projects, such as slabs, walls, and columns. They translate architectural and structural plans into detailed formwork designs that are safe, structurally sound, and cost-effective. 

Key responsibilities

• Design:

   Develop detailed 2D and 3D formwork designs using CAD software like AutoCAD or Revit.

• Analysis:

   Conduct structural analysis, perform load calculations, and ensure designs meet all safety, efficiency, and code compliance standards.

• Coordination:

   Collaborate with project managers, structural engineers, architects, and site supervisors to ensure designs align with project requirements and schedules.

• Documentation:

   Create and update technical drawings, plans, and documentation for the formwork system.

• Problem-solving:

   Address technical issues and make design modifications as needed based on project feedback and site conditions. 

Required skills and qualifications

• Education:

   A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is often required.

• Experience:

   A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in formwork design or a related field is typically expected.

• Software:

   Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Revit, is essential.

• Knowledge:

   Strong understanding of formwork principles, materials, structural integrity, and safety standards.

• Skills:

   Excellent communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
