Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Management

  • Process monthly payroll for on-roll employees across all group entities in compliance with statutory and company policies.
  • Coordinate closely with Branch Finance and HR for inputs related to new hires, exits, bonuses, LTA, gratuity, and other compensation components.
  • Ensure timely payment of salaries, reimbursements, and variable pay.
  • Administer deductions such as PF, ESIC, TDS, PT, LWF and NPS, and file related returns.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and tax regulations related to employee compensation.
  • Prepare and file monthly/quarterly/annual statutory returns (e.g., PF, PT, ESI, Form 24Q).
  • Support statutory audits, internal audits, and tax assessments related to payroll and employee costs.

Accounting & Reconciliations

  • Pass payroll-related journal entries and ensure accurate cost booking across departments and cost centers.
  • Reconcile payroll ledgers with bank statements and accounting records.
  • Manage provisions for gratuity, leave encashment, and other employee benefit obligations.

Employee Support & Documentation

  • Address employee queries related to salary slips, tax declarations, investment proofs, and Form 16.
  • Collaborate with the HR and compliance teams for smooth year-end documentation and declarations.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Work with payroll software (e.g., Workday, SAP, ADP, or similar platforms) for automation and accuracy.
  • Recommend and implement improvements in payroll processing, documentation, and compliance workflows.

Other Compliances

    Handling compliances related to contractors    Handling compliances related to PF Trust

Corporate Finance

Monitoring operating expenses, ensuring proper approval process is followedPreparation of budgets and forecasts related to operating expensesRecharge of corporate costs to branchesUnderstanding of accounting principles

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting; CA Inter/ICWA/MBA (Finance) is a plus.
  • 4–7 years of experience in payroll processing and accounts in a corporate or agency setup.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian payroll laws, TDS, Provident Fund, and other statutory components.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll software and ERP systems (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle).
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles and reconciliations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with SAP, ADP, Workday, Peoplesoft software.
  • Experience in a media, advertising, or creative services industry is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
