Job Role Assist Manager - Marketing Function Marketing Job Objective To give thrust to Marketing and other allied activities in CNG/PNG, realizing increased sales volumes for the company. Develop market strategy for acquisition, retention and management of Industrial & Bulk Commercial customers in order to achieve desired target. Functional Competencies Essential functional competencies required Prior Sales or Product Management experience having preferably handled Channel sales / Retail network management / Industrial sales. Preferred industries - Oil & Gas / Consumer Durables / Consumer Non-Durables / FMCG/ Automotive / Tyres / Lubricants / Paints or similar industries. Excellent Presentation and Communication skill with analytical approach Conceptually sound knowledge about Marketing and Sales concepts and models. Desired functional competencies required Knowledge of Gas industry Fluent in English Customer centricity Prior experience of interaction with statutory authorities / Government bodies. Problem solving skills and Influencing. Ability to analyse any problem and suggest discrete, logical problem solving steps. Willingness to travel, work out of office environment. Experience & Educational Requirements Educational Qualification Include Additional Certification if any Full Time Bachelor Degree in any discipline MBA Marketing or PGDM-Marketing (full time or part time). Relevant Experience Minimum experience of 1 year Relevant experience Must have spent significant part of career in Sales or Product Management. Communication Interfaces External Internal Interaction with channel partners, dealers, operators, MPCB – Regional & HO RRM & Finance CNG Kit Distributors, Franchisee Marketing team including CRM, Corporate Communications Direct marketing agencies for PNG & CNG, Downstream Contractors, Burner Manufacturers, Chief Fire Officer of MIDC(s) and Auditors and other vendor related to marketing activities Projects, O&M and E & P Builders, Developers, Institutions, OEMs, Industrial and commercial associations etc. Legal Government departments/ statutory bodies Key responsibilities & Accountabilities Candidate will be placed either in CNG Marketing or PNG Marketing or I&C Marketing 1) CNG Marketing ACHIEVING BUDGETED GAS VOLUME TARGETS by : a) Handling a set of CNG Stations in the target markets assigned. Managing the assigned CNG stations as per MGL operating standards. Ensure optimum customer service and operational efficiencies in the CNG stations in order to ACHIEVE BUDGETED CNG SALES TARGETS. b) Implementing various promotional schemes given by MGL at the assigned CNG Stations. c) Ensuring that financial discipline is adhered to by CNG stations assigned. d) Identifying new locations where new CNG Stations are to be put up, conducting detailed trading area surveys for the same. e) Identifying land parcels and prospective franchisees willing to make the required investment and manage the CNG stations. f) CNG stake holder management by maintaining continuous communication with retrofitters/OEMs/dealers/RTOs in order to enhance CNG conversion. g) Updating the database of all CNG prospects such as tourist taxi operators, buses, commercial vehicles, etc. h) Assessing CNG demand and identification of location for new CNG station/ upgrading existing CNG station. i) Liaison with large fleet owners, cab aggregators for CNG promotion and implementation of various Marketing schemes 2) Domestic PNG Marketing ACHIEVING BUDGETED REGISTRATION TARGETS AND GAS VOLUME TARGETS by : a) Conducting detailed survey and derive detailed understanding of Domestic potential in target markets. b) Developing strong relationship with key stake holders such as Institutions, leading builders for PNG network expansion. c) Planning suitable field activities (through Direct Marketing agencies, sales representatives) for achieving the PNG registration target ensuring highest level penetration in a given area. d) Keeping continuous check and vigil on the Direct Marketing agencies and sales representatives to ensure that work is being carried out as per plan. e) Providing continuous training and value addition to the Direct Marketing agencies & sales representatives in order to optimize results. f) Timely resolving customer marketing queries / complaints, ensuring correctness of the database with respect to Customer Masters, maintaining the ISO related documents and MIS of allotted areas/zone. g) Closely coordinating with direct marketing agencies, project & planning dept. for providing PNG connection in a committed timeline. h) Implementing promotional plan / marketing scheme for enhancing penetration in gas supplied areas Commercial A Marketing ACHIEVING BUDGETED REGISTRATION TARGETS AND GAS VOLUME TARGETS by : a) Conducting detailed surveys and derive detailed understanding of Commercial potential in target markets. b) Identifying the prospective customers and asses techno-commercial feasibility in association with Planning/Project team and maintaining the database of the same c) Continuous follow up with Customers & Project dept for completion of downstream activity and conversion of Commercial “A” customers. d) Soliciting legal opinion for resolving problematic cases where Society NOC is an issue or customer not ready to start downstream activities etc. 3) Industrial and large Commercial Customers Marketing ACHIEVING BUDGETED GAS VOLUME TARGETS by : a) Conducting demand survey analysis for Industrial and large Commercial Consumers in MGL’s authorised GAs and Identification of customers to be targeted b) Drafting, negotiation, execution and management of Gas Sales Contracts and amendments to the Contracts to cater to dynamic business requirement for a win-win situation and enhance value creation for MGL c) Assisting in formulation of marketing strategy to (i) retain & enhance existing I&C volume (ii) expedite MGL’s efforts to convert untapped potential d) Conducting detailed survey of new area development / new applications by understanding and analysis of business demand e) Ensuring new registration as per set target in Industrial & Large (B, C, AC, Z and Commercial Mall) Commercial contracting / registrations f) Carrying out promotional activities to generate potential/ front on periodic basis and spread across all authorized geographical areas g) Arranging periodic meeting with MPCB officials and ensure close coordination with these officials to garner support for conversion from polluting fuels to clean Natural Gas. h) Ensuring timely perusal with registered customers for completion of customer scope of work
