Associate Manager - E & I - Scrap Segregation Plant

Purpose/Objective

To provide strategic leadership for the E&I department, ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of all electrical and automation systems. This role is responsible for leading complex troubleshooting efforts, managing the E&I budget, and driving technological improvements.

Key Responsibilities of Role

• E&I system management:

  Oversee the maintenance and strategic upgrade of all electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, VFDs, and sensors.

• Advanced troubleshooting:

  Lead the E&I team in diagnosing and resolving complex electrical and automation failures, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and methodologies to minimize plant downtime.

• Project leadership:

  Plan, lead, and execute capital projects related to E&I infrastructure, such as system modernizations, new equipment installations, and automation upgrades.

• Safety and compliance:

  Ensure the E&I team rigorously adheres to all electrical safety standards and regulations. Lead safety audits and incident investigations.

• Team development:

  Manage and mentor a team of Deputy Managers and E&I engineers and technicians. Facilitate their professional development and ensure high technical competency.

• Budget and vendor management:

  Develop and manage the E&I department's budget. Vet and manage external vendors and contractors for E&I-related services and components.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education:

  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.

• Experience:

  8–12 years of progressive experience in E&I maintenance and automation in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

• Skills:

  Expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell), SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols. Strong knowledge of power distribution and high-voltage systems.

• Certifications:

  Professional Engineering (PE) license or other relevant certifications in industrial automation or electrical safety are desirable.
