Job Description

As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Head, your role will be crucial in ensuring workplace safety, occupational health & hygiene, and environmental protection. You will be responsible for creating and enforcing EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Your key responsibilities will include: - Managing environment protection and waste disposal activities. - Overseeing the operation of Zero liquid discharge wastewater treatment plant & Scrubbers. - Leading hazardous & non-hazardous, liquid & solid waste disposal activities. - Liaising with disposal & recycling vendors for timely disposal. - Maintaining documentation including records, manifests, and annual returns. - Leading the occupational health centre and monitoring employee health through regular checks and surveillance programs. - Conducting industrial hygiene monitoring, sampling, and data analysis. - Developing measures to prevent, eliminate, or control occupational health hazards. - Providing training and education to employees on workplace risks and preventive measures. - Ensuring adherence to EHS guidelines and site procedures. - Conducting operational audits, function audits, and EHS audits. - Spreading safety awareness through training programs and workshops. - Identifying process safety hazards and mitigating risks. - Implementing Emergency Response plans. - Investigating accidents and incidents to prevent future occurrences. - Monitoring water distribution system and leading water stewardship activities. - Participating in emission reduction activities and meeting ESG targets. - Ensuring compliance with legislations and regulations. - Leading public hearings and consultations on EHS matters. - Reporting incidents and accidents to stakeholders. - Analyzing and reporting EHS performance. - Developing and implementing EHS strategies and action plans. - Coordinating pollution control, waste management, recycling, and conservation efforts. - Managing corporate environmental responsibility initiatives. Qualifications required for this role include: - Professional qualification in Occupational Health, safety, and environment protection. - Strong understanding of environment protection unit operations and effluent treatment plants. - Knowledge of Factory act requirements, environmental laws, and regulatory compliances. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Effective communication and leadership abilities. With a minimum of 15 to 20 years of experience, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment while promoting sustainable development.,
