Are you ready to join us?This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.The Associate, General Engineering (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for applying technical expertise to analyze trends, design processes, and resolve engineering challenges. You will lead projects, manage budgets, and coordinate contractors.Responsible for leading, managing, and/or performing work across multiple engineering areas/specializations. Activities include but are not limited to:
- Analyzing technology trends; - Designing new processes; - Modifying, optimizing, and improving existing processes; - Evaluating and resolving issues related to manufacturing, design, quality, and material engineering; - Developing test procedures; - Estimating cost, project planning and execution, managing project and operational budgets, managing contractors; - Establishing engineering standards and budgetary controls; and - Introducing new/modified equipment, tools, software and systems. Confers with others in the organization to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products. May provide insight and develop priorities for engineering projects and services or be involved in field-testing of products, processes, and/or systems.
Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and execute projects, manage project and operational budgets, and supervise contractors

- Confer with others to determine engineering feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and customer demand for products
- Follow procedures with decision-making authority, requiring job-related training and attention to detail
- Adhere to Good Practice (GxP) regulations by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training
- Meet individual job requirements and contribute to the overall compliance of the organization

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of total experience with bachelor’s degree.
- Responsible for leading, managing, and/or performing work across multiple engineering areas/specializations. Activities include but are not limited to:
- Reviewing technical documents and summarize data and testing.
- Modifying, optimizing, and improving existing processes.
- Evaluating and resolving issues related to manufacturing, design, quality, and material engineering.
