About the Organization:

Swaniti Initiative aims to strengthen public service delivery by working with state and local governments across South Asia with a strong focus on India. Our interventions have included strengthening scheme implementation by identifying current gaps and limitations, providing research support to Hon\u2019ble Members of Parliament about best practices in moving forward, and developing data-technology tools that can back decision-making processes. At present, along with working with 200+ Honble Members of Parliamentarians for policy making, are working as advisors to state governments to ensure the delivery of schemes to the last mile. Major verticals of our work are climate and sustainability, social protection, and livelihood.

About the Role

We are looking for adynamic and thoughtful Communication Associate to support our efforts with storytelling, outreach, and visibility efforts. This role will bepivotal in amplifying the voice of the organization, crafting strategicnarratives, and translating our mission and impact into compelling, accessible,and high-quality communication across digital and offline channels. This roleis ideal for someone who is passionate about social impact and committed toimproving how development work is communicated across platforms andstakeholders. The role involves translating complex ideas into engagingnarratives that resonate with both grassroots communities and global audiences.

The associate willcollaborate with internal teams including policy, programs, and partnershipsand also support external engagement with media, donors, and the public. Youwill support the development and implementation of communication strategies,contribute to campaigns and public engagement efforts, and ensure that our workreaches diverse audiences including government stakeholders, civil society,media, and the public.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Creation andStorytelling

Develop content for newsletters, social media,blogs, case studies, brochures, press releases, and policy briefs

Capture stories from the ground in partnership with program teamsto highlight human-centered impact, support ground teams to capture theorganization

Develop ground-level human stories that highlight the impact ofthe organization\ work across sectors.

Support the preparation of institutional documents such as annualreports, program summaries, and donor decks

2. Digital and SocialMedia Engagement

Create and schedule regular content acrosssocial media platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebookincluding maintain a monthly calendar and draft posts tailored to each platform.

Collaborate with designers to create supporting visuals includinggraphics, videos, and reels.

Monitor digital analytics and audience engagement metrics tooptimize content performance. Draft press releases, op-eds, and media briefsfor external dissemination.

Support media outreach and maintain relationships with journalists andpublications

Maintain and update media contact lists, update and maintain listevents attendees, guests and partners and their social media handles, assist inbuilding media relationships, and manage media outreach.

4. StrategicCommunication

Contribute to thematic campaigns that align withpriority areas such as energy transition, public health, climate justice,and livelihoods

Assist in designing and executing communication campaigns aroundthematic priorities or key events.

Support internal branding efforts and stakeholder communications

Maintain consistent tone, language, and design across all externaloutputs, organized library of content, communication assets, and knowledgeproducts

Track engagement and analytics across platforms and prepare regular reports forleadership and donors

5. Monitoring, Analysis & Reporting

Track engagement metrics, media coverage, andcampaign performance.

Generate monthly/quarterly communication reports to informstrategy refinement.
Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor\ or Master\degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, Development Studies, or arelated field

3+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in the development, nonprofit,or policy sectors, digital marketing.

Strong writing skills with experience producing different content types acrossformats and audiences

Familiarity with basic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite ispreferred

A sound understanding of the development landscape and current policy issues

Skills and Competencies

Excellent written and verbal communication inEnglish; fluency in other languages is an advantage

Ability to simplify technical content into clearand relatable messaging

Sensitivity to brand identity and visual consistency

Good understanding of social media tools and analytics platforms

Strong time management and collaboration skills
