Job Description

As a CICO AML at American Express, you will play a crucial role in performing compliance operation activities supporting the Market Compliance Officers for International markets. Your responsibilities will include: - Analyzing financial documents and statements to identify suspicious patterns that have occurred or may occur in the future. - Investigating, measuring, and reporting on the organization's risk of suspicious or fraudulent financial activity. - Assessing the financial risks posed by a company's operations and monitoring/regulating high-risk activities. - Performing PEP reviews and making decisions on potential matches during onboarding new accounts, as well as conducting Enhanced Due Diligence on confirmed PEPs periodically for existing customers. - Conducting Sanctions reviews and deciding potential matches during onboarding and throughout the lifecycle of the account. - Managing stakeholders by leading alignment calls with senior leadership across different business units to obtain concurrence. Qualifications & Skill Set Required: - Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience within the Big Four or in a bank/financial institution background, with a preference for candidates with experience in a mix of Big 4 audit background, internal audit, SOX testing, or PRSA Testing in a bank/financial institution. - Ideal candidates should possess an MBA, Chartered Accountancy, Law Graduates, CPA, ACAMS, or other certifications in audit. - Ability to work independently, understand regulations, design test scripts, execute fieldwork testing, communicate findings to the business, and report gaps. - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to break down complex issues into actionable tasks. - High degree of organization, individual initiative, results orientation, solution focus, personal accountability, and resilience. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a preference for language expertise in a foreign language such as Japanese, German, or Spanish.
