Job Title: Assistant Shift Incharge – DRI (Raw Material Laboratory) Department: Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) – Raw Material Lab Location: Teraimal, Raigarh, Chhattisgarh Experience: 2–4 Years Qualification: B.Sc./Diploma (Chemistry preferred) Salary: Best in Industry (Negotiable) Job Summary The Assistant Shift Incharge – Raw Material Lab supports smooth laboratory operations in the DRI division. The role involves supervising sampling, testing of raw materials (iron ore, coal, dolomite, and limestone), ensuring accurate analysis, coordinating with operations, and maintaining quality standards as per plant requirements. Key Responsibilities Sampling & Testing: Monitor and guide sampling of raw materials (iron ore, pellet, coal, dolomite, and lime). Conduct and supervise chemical/physical tests like Fe%, LOI, VM, FC, Ash, Sulphur, Moisture, Bulk Density etc. Ensure timely sample preparation, crushing, grinding, and analysis. 2. Quality Monitoring Maintain accuracy of test results and cross-check critical parameters. Ensure results comply with DRI process requirements and quality standards. Communicate test deviations immediately to the shift in charge and production teams. 3. Shift Coordination Assist the shift in charge in allocating tasks to lab technicians and sample collectors. Ensure smooth shift operations and maintain discipline and workflow inside the lab. Prepare shift-wise reports and ensure proper handover to the next shift. 4. Documentation & Reporting Maintain proper records: test results, logbooks, sample registers, and calibration sheets. Prepare and submit daily/shift analysis reports to the DRI production department. Support monthly/weekly MIS data preparation. 5. Equipment Operation & Calibration Ensure upkeep and routine calibration of lab equipment such as: – Spectrometer – Bomb Calorimeter – Muffle Furnace – TGA/Analyzer – Moisture Analyzer – Universal Crusher & Grinder Report breakdowns and follow up with maintenance.
