Assistant Purchase Manager

Procurement Planning & Strategy

• Assist in preparing purchase plans based on project requirements.
  
• Support procurement of raw materials and components like PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, batteries, etc.
  
• Align purchases with project timelines and budgets.
  

Vendor Management

• Identify and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and delivery.
  
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  
• Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery and resolve supply issues.
  

Cost Management & Negotiation

• Negotiate pricing and contracts to ensure cost efficiency.
  
• Ensure procurement aligns with budget constraints and cost-saving goals.
  

Order Management

• Raise purchase orders and track their status.
  
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as needed.
  
• Coordinate logistics and ensure materials reach project sites on time.
  

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and statutory regulations (especially important in solar, with subsidies or import norms).
  
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, invoices, and delivery schedules.
  

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with project management, engineering, stores, and finance teams to understand material requirements and ensure smooth operations.
  
• Support audits and provide data when required.
  

Market Analysis & Risk Management

• Keep up to date with market trends, especially in solar technology and raw material pricing (e.g., silicon, lithium).
  
• Identify risks related to price volatility, import/export duties, or geopolitical constraints and report them.
