Job Description

Our client is a prominent player in the maritime industry, providing comprehensive technical services and solutions to a wide range of vessels. We are currently looking to expand our technical team with a Senior Procurement Professional to provide vital support to the Technical Superintendents and Fleet Managers.

Assistant Procurement Manager

(based in Delhi NCR, Noida)

ORGANIZATION:

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee procurement operations for assigned vessels, ensuring timely and cost-effective material supply.
  • Supervise, guide, and develop a team of Procurement Executives.
  • Coordinate closely with Technical Superintendents and Fleet Managers to prioritize urgent needs.
  • Handle vendor sourcing, negotiation, evaluation, and performance tracking.
  • Monitor and improve key metrics such as purchase order accuracy, cost savings, and vendor delivery timelines.
  • Support invoice processing, documentation, and audits in collaboration with Accounts and Compliance teams.
  • Ensure effective communication with vessel crew, logistics teams, and external suppliers across multiple time zones.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and systems.
  • Support the technical team in monitoring and ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations and safety standards.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • A diploma or degree in Engineering, or a related field (or relevant practical experience).
  • At least 5 years of procurement or technical purchase experience, preferably in the maritime sector.
  • Strong understanding of vessel operations, systems, and technical procurement processes.
  • Strong knowledge of marine spare parts, machinery, tools, and vendor ecosystems.
  • Excellent coordination and negotiation abilities.
  • Process-driven with a keen eye for detail.
  • Comfortable working with data, purchase software, and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, particularly in managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with vendors, vessels, and internal teams.
