Job Title: Assistant Manager – Sales (Food & Beverage Industry)

Location: Mumbai

Report To: VP Sales & Marketing

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Assistant Manager for our Sales team, specializing in selling ingredients, additives, and chemicals to the Food & Beverage industry. This role requires strong sales expertise, industry knowledge, and the ability to build relationships to drive business growth and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the food processing sector and be comfortable with a blend of field sales and office-based responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development: Achieve budgeted sales volumes through new business development, targeting the Food & Beverage industry.Lead Generation & Conversion: Generate leads and follow up on inquiries, converting them into meaningful sales.Proposal Preparation: Develop and present techno-commercial proposals to prospective customers, leading discussions to secure additional business.Dealer Network Management: Establish and manage dealer networks, ensuring business growth through strategic partnerships.Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with the plant/QC team on new developments, sampling, vendor approvals, and resolving customer complaints.Market Research: Collect market information on competing products and technologies to support strategic decision-making.Account Receivables: Ensure timely follow-up on payments, managing accounts receivables efficiently.Customer Feedback: Provide feedback from customers to support the development of new products and applications.

Skills & Requirements

Proven experience in selling ingredients, additives, or chemicals to the Food & Beverage industry.Strong knowledge of chemicals, specialty chemicals, food & beverage trends, bulk drugs, and agrochemicals.Established relationships and contacts in the processed food industry, with the ability to drive sales and business development.Ability to independently generate leads and convert them into sales.Experience in cost estimation, price negotiation, and offer preparation.Strong understanding of trade dynamics, including duties, taxes, benefit schemes, and transactions.Excellent analytical skills and experience in preparing sales presentations and reports.Team player with a collaborative mindset.Willingness to travel as part of the sales process (50% field sales).Ability to track leads and follow up for successful business closure.

Qualifications

Graduate in Chemistry, Pharma, Food Processing, or Chemical Engineering.5-6 years of experience in sales, particularly in the Food & Beverage or chemical industry.Proven ability to establish relationships with key industry personnel.

Additional Information

Field Sales: 50% of the role will be field-based, with travel provided by the company.Working Hours: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Saturday.Salary: 4 LPA
