Assistant Manager - Quality Coding ( IP DRG)

Designation/Role: Assistant Manager IP DRG

Department: Coding - Quality

Reporting to: Director - Quality

Location of work: Hyderabad

Eligibility : For AM : candidates should have Experience TL for 2 years.

Competency & Knowledge Requirements:

• Experience:

  Minimum 6 years in Medical Coding, specifically in Inpatient coding and Medical Coding business.

• Technical Knowledge:

• Strong expertise in ICD-10, CPT coding guidelines, and techniques.
• In-depth knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology, Advanced Medical Terminology, Psychology, and Pharmacology.

• Tools:

  Proficient in MS Office.

• Soft Skills:

  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of 50+ Quality Analysts (QAs).
• Foster an inspiring, open communication team environment.
• Design and implement QA capacity planning aligned with project requirements.
• Delegate tasks effectively and set clear deadlines.
• Ensure quality control in compliance with client SLAs.
• Implement and maintain the organizations Quality Management System.
• Monitor team performance, analyze metrics, and report findings.
• Conduct random audits of auditors.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on audit observations; identify knowledge gaps and collaborate with quality leads and operations managers to develop corrective action plans.
• Identify training needs and provide coaching to QAs.
• Address team feedback, resolve conflicts, and maintain high morale.
• Recognize and reward high performance.
• Encourage innovation and business improvement initiatives.
• Organize team-building activities.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and initiate action plans.

Required Skills:

• 6+ years experience in Medical Coding, specifically in IP DRG, either in Operations or Quality teams.
• Proven leadership experience managing medium to large teams, preferably across multiple sites.
• Relevant certifications such as CPC, CIC, COC, or CSS are preferred.

Educational Qualification:

• Graduate or Post Graduate in any stream.
