Job Description

Purpose/Objective


    Engineer - O&M (C) - Solar is responsible for operation & maintenance actitties being performed at solar site, overseeing the operational efficiency, safety, and financial performance of the site. This role ensures that all maintenance activities are conducted effectively, achieving targets for Performance Ratio (PR), Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF), Plant Availability (PA), and Grid Availability (GA). The Engineer drives operational excellence by adhering to safety standards, managing budgets, and implementing technology initiatives for continuous improvement. Additionally, the role involves ensuring compliance with business processes, safety regulations, and strategic plans while fostering a culture of safety and engagement among the team.

Key Responsibilities of Role


    Operational Excellence: Achieve Preventive Maintenance (PM) targets and ensure that maintenance is conducted as per the PM schedule, including timely notification closures in SAP. Achieve performance targets for Performance Ratio (PR), Capacity Utilization Factor (CUF), Plant Availability (PA), and Grid Availability (GA). Ensure module cleaning and grass cutting targets are met according to the approved plans, monitor and analyze SCADA performance. Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety practices, aiming for zero accidents and Lost Time Injuries (LTIs) at the site. Conduct safety training, report safety concerns, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including completing mock drills and safety interactions as per schedule. Ensure '0' repetitive audit observations and timely closure of audit points, including MAAS and IMS compliance. Financial Management: Monitor and ensure budget adherence on a monthly basis, focusing on achieving 5% savings on the approved budget (excluding work not done cases). Manage O&M costs, including revenue, OPEX, CAPEX, and procurement, with a focus on cost optimization and budget tracking. Ensure timely invoice booking and provision submission, along with maintaining accurate records of material consumption and spare part bookings. Business Processes: Establish a link between daily actions and their implications for the team, maintaining commercial focus to reduce costs. Ensure compliance with business processes and strategic plans, including monthly compliance with management systems such as ESG initiatives, Legatrix, 5S, Business Excellence, and IMS. Ensure completion of asset maintenance on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Technology and Process Improvement: Implement technology initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, including maintaining SCADA availability and performing IV characteristic studies. Achieve a reduction in Equipment downtime and improve MTTR and MTBF performance metrics. Ensure proper calibration and testing of equipment as per the schedule and manage string monitoring and timely rectification. People and Training: Ensure timely recruitment for vacant positions within 45 days and achieve planned vs. actual mandays of training for all sites. Foster a culture of safety and commitment by involving employees in safety campaigns and training activities. Qualifications and Experience


    Education Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma - Electrical or Electronics or relevant to Energy Sector Work Experience: 1-5 years of experience ( If Diploma holder: additional 2-3 Y Exp. req.)
